Chitwan region in Nepal is gearing up for Wheat season 2017-18 where, Agriculture and Forest University(AFU), Rampur being the key project partner under DGGW’s Innovative Seed Systems is proactively engaged in farmer mobilization and quality foundation seeddistrbution to the wheat seed producers of the region. Wheat seeds produced by these wheat growers will be bought back by AFU which after processing (at AFU’s seed procesisng facility duly set up under DGGW last year) will be sold as quality certified wheat seeds within the country.
Activities covered: (a) Paddy harvesting post which wheat sowing will be taken up (b) Village level wheat seed distribution by AFU
