Ram Rao has been for four decades engaged with United States Department of Agriculture and National Institute of Food and Agriculture. In his capacity as National Program Leader for Food Science and Food safety, he has shaped several national food safety initiatives. He is a Lead Instructor for FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Foods. He has extensive exposure to the food safety frameworks and implementation issues in emerging economies.
