Building on a strong technical and research foundation in the Life Sciences, has developed leading technical capabilities in Biotechnology, Microbiomics, Agri-foods Technology, and Risk Assessment, with over 25 years of Strategic & Operational experience that spans the “Research to Retail” Continuum, thus being able to convert world-class science to real-world, effective solutions. Has pioneered the “Safety by Design” Concept for ensuring the safety of processed Foods and Commodities. Has been a Senior Advisor in the external scientific world as well as Government and Civil Society and have helped drive strategic R & D and policy agendas in Food Safety – at the Dutch National Level and at the European Union Level.
