HYDERABAD: Sathguru Management Consultants, a leading Hyderabad based company had organized their Blood Donation Camp along with Aarohi Blood Bank as their technical partner as a part of their CSR initiative, ‘Sankalp’ at their local corporate office today, 8 November 2019.
The camp was organized with a view to save those lives who are inflicted with Cancer/ Thalassemia and are in dire need of blood but couldn’t get access due lack of proper supply.
It was overseen by a team of well-equipped and trained medical attendants and an enthusiastic Sankalp team who made all the necessary arrangements to ensure safety, hygiene and comfort of the donors.
The initiative had almost 80-100 members participating including employees,ex-employees, friends & family members of Sathguru, volunteers from other companies apart from participants from all across the city with an intention of contributing for the social benefit of those in need of blood participated. The objective of the camp was to collect 100 units of blood.
Speaking on the occasion Hemalatha Vijayaraghavan, Founder Director – Sankalp said “In past we have collected more than 750 units of blood and supported the cause. We are very happy that many associates, their families & alumni of Sathguru Management Consultants, neighbours & friends have come forward to give hope to children fighting thalassemia and cancer.
Every drop of blood count to save a life. This initiative has enabled children to lead quality life and we believe that this initiative will stir up many more such generous volunteers to come forward and support the cause in the future as well. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our associates for always coming forward to support the blood donation camp & volunteering to donate blood whenever there has been a need in the city”.
Rajeswari, AVP – CSR Initiative, said “I am very excited to organize the annual blood donation camp for the past few years at Sathguru Management Consultants & elsewhere. Its heartwarming to see the concerned citizens coming forward to contribute for this cause & light up a ray of hope in the lives of children fighting thalassemia & cancer”.
“The blood collected from the camp will be used for treating children with Thalassemia for free, a rare genetic blood a disorder which is carried by 4% of the population and children suffering from cancer.
A child with Thalassemia needs a regular blood transfusion for every 2-5 weeks throughout their life to survive.” said Dr. Adithi, Founder of Aarohi Blood Bank.
