RAJAMMA – DETERMINED TO SEE HER GRANDCHILDREN EDUCATED
Despite retiring from a private firm as office assistant, Rajamma at age of 75 still continues to work as sweeper in a hospital for a very merger income. Her only objective is to see her three grandchildren well educated and settled in good jobs. Rajamma’s son at a very young age absconded leaving behind his wife and three children. Later her daughter-in-law fell seriously ill and has become bed ridden. Since then Rajamma has been single handedly taking care of the family needs. Her efforts brought one grandson to peruse graduation and another with class 12. Yet, with her old age and declining health shouldering Shamini, her granddaughter education has become a huge challenge. Sankalp started supporting Shamini’s education since three years. Shamini is now in class 9 and is aspiring to become a doctor.
