A diet that contains right proportions of carbohydrates, fats, fiber, proteins, vitamins, minerals and water necessary to maintain good health is a balanced diet.

Balanced meals include one food from each food group- Dairy; Vegetables; Fruits; Grains and Protein

Simple Ways to Start Healthy Eating:

  • Choose whole foods instead of processed
  • Say no to sugar- drinks or foo
  • Drink sufficient water at phased intervals and stay hydrated
  • Keep healthy food readily available
  • Go nuts for nuts (and seeds)
  • Includeprotein in your diet
  • Use whole grain flour in baking recipes
