Importance of Detox

Detox diets are said to eliminate toxins from the body, improve health and is also a way to promote weight loss. Detoxing one a week, flushes out the toxins from our body.

After detoxification, body will have better digestive and lymphatic function. Both of these are key to a strong and balanced immune system.

A daylong detox plan

  • Start off the day with lemon juice in hot water
  • On the day of detoxing, an intense workout is discouraged, but few minutes of energizing yoga is recommended for keeping the body warm and blood flowing
  • Smoothies or juices can be taken for breakfast
  • A fiber-rich apple, or a pair of blueberries with probiotic-filled Greek yogurt can be taken for a little snack before lunch
  • Keeping active during the day is a key; taking short walks or stretching or desk exercise in between office hours are effective
  • For lunch, a bowl of soup or salad along with some lean protein would work
  • A cup of green juice would work well as an evening snack
  • A healthy dinner full of lean protein and fresh veggies is recommended
  • To end the day ensure a quality sleep
